Travel itinerary

Day 1: Cusco – Huaca Casi – Lares- Hot Baths – Huacawasi.

We will leave Cusco by bus to go to Lares at 5:00 a.m. On the way, we will pass through various places of interest, such as archaeological complexes, artisan markets and Andean villages. Our trip will lead us to Lares, where we will enjoy thermal springs (28 and 36 C º degrees/ 82 and 97 F. degrees) and rest before our day’s journey. After lunch, we will continue our trip to Huacawasi (3,600 m/ 11,811 f), where we will camp.
Duration of the transportation: 4 hours / Climate: cold / Duration of the hike: 3-4 hours

Day 2: Huacawasi – Paso Ipsay – Patacancha

The second day is probably a day’s journey with more interaction; after breakfast, we will go up as far as the Ipsay pass (4,400 m/ 14,436 f). Very close, we will find Andean communities, and will visit a few families who live on agriculture and textile design. In the afternoon, after lunch, we will camp in the small village of Patacancha (3,650 m/ 11,975 f).
Climate: cold / Duration of the hike: 6-7 hours

Day 3 : Patacancha – Willoq – Pumamarca – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco

On that day, we will leave very early after breakfast (5:30 a.m.) and will go up to the Machu Picchu (2,400 m/ 7,874 f) by bus. After a guided tour through the important places of the fortress, we will have time to wander around the site. We will then go down to Aguas Calientes to have lunch (not included), and will have time to visit the hot baths of the village. At a convenient time, we will take the train back to Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.
